This place sprawls like a Texas suburb. The casino seems to go on forever, and twists around a dozen corners. No matter where you are, though, it's loud. To its credit, it throws a ten-times odds craps game. to its debit, it's seriously outdated.

Room Quality: Decent rooms, the largest downtown, which is a plus. Furnishings are minimal and a bit worn. Tower rooms are much nicer, decorated in bright colors. They are a bit run down. Don't get us wrong, they're clean and fully functional, just not luxurious. The bathrooms are decent with a tub/shower combo and a nice sink area. The penthouse floor has a sauna and exercise room.

Service Quality: Good. We have had both rude and pleasant interactions, which is typical of Reno. The hotel has a decent room service menu and quick responses to requests. Check-in is usually fast.
What You Get Bottles of in the Bathroom: Shampoo/conditioner and lotion to soften up those hands chapped from banging the slot buttons. Or, as we got recently, two bottle of lotion and no shampoo the first night, and then nothing the second.
Clientele: An older middle-aged crowd. This place really goes for the baby boomer who likes the easy-listening music of the 80s.
How's the Pool? The largest downtown, but still just a big polygon. They have some decent pool parties during swimming season. Plus, the "penthouse" health club has a giant indoor jacuzzi with great views.
Free Shuttle: An hourly shuttle to and from the airport will make it that much easier for you to start your drinking before you land, and keep it up until you're almost home.

Table Games: They've got single deck blackjack with the Reno double down rules. Roulette, craps, Pai Gow and Let It Ride are all available. The games call your name, if you listen closely you can hear them.
Bet Minimums: Blackjack starting at $3, but usualy at $5, roulette with $1 chips. Three card poker starts at $5, as do Pai Gow and Let It Ride. Craps with 10x odds can be had for a $3 minimum at the slowest times, but $5 the rest.
Machines: A wide selection of games with tons of slots from a nickel to a dollar. Lots of the popular new games and loud, video-screen slots. Video poker is not too good, and we have seen no full-pay machines.
Cocktails? Good cocktail service, but it was a cocktail waitress who busted us for taking notes on the casino floor. They were very uptight about that.
Who Gets Comps? The Bonus Beach Club rewards the loyal player and there are all sorts of trinkets you can earn for just a little slot play. For table players, expect to get noticed if you play dimes and ask to be rated. A coffee shop comp is easier to score than runs in T-Ball.

Fuzio: This place serves noodles from all over, and steaks and ribs, too. It is located back in a corner and is barely decorated, but it has a bar, great happy hour deals and generally okay food. Prices are decent.
Mel's: We're not sure if it's named after Alice's boss, but this coffee shop poses as a 50s diner and serves a decent milkshake. Breakfasts are always available, so are hamburgers and some pretty tough steaks.
New York Steak Buffet: What? You were expecting the Buffet at the Cal-Neva here? Okay, so the name and the menu are nothing exciting, but if you really, really love New York steaks, then you will probably do just fine in this fairly small buffet. Dinner only.
Don't forget to get a roast beef sandwich at the Arby's. Or, remember to. Either way it's your choice. Or grab a sandwich, pizza or donuts at the Cabana Cafe.

Number of TVs: Twelve televisions. This is a small Cal-Neva outpost that we haven't seen since renovations.
Number of Seats: Fifty seats, but some of those are at the bar that runs along the side.
How Many Betting Windows? Three windows with colored magnets for team names. This is a sports only book.
Minimum Wager: $5, just like everywhere.
Other Notes: This place just isn't much fun. It also shares its space with the keno lounge, so it's fine for guys looking to score with elderly gambling ladies, but a bit noisy and chaotic for the rest of us.

Number of Tables: Three small tables in a room called "Mom's Poker Room." The cutesy name doesn't save the place from being rinky dink.
Comfort of Chairs: Average chairs for average bums. They only deal cheap games, so you can't expect them to worry about your fanny, right?
Closed Room or Open to Casino? No, it is an open room right by the sportsbook. It can get pretty noisy, especially on weekends.
Game Spreads and Limits: Nothing but Texas Hold 'Em, and only at low limits. They may get a No limit game going, but don't plan on it. In the meantime, expect $3-$6.
Beginner Games or Classes? Not that we know of, but this is a beginner room. Look, if you know how to play well, skip this place. But if you want to get a feel for the game and play against some clueless individuals, then stop on by. Just don't expect to beat the rake at these limits.
How Crowded is the Room? Not very crowded. Two tables are usually going and the third is open on weekends. But there is little wait.
Comps? The standard per hour comp applies so give them your slot card.
How Good Are the Players? Generally weak and more likely to call than raise. They are the type to raise with a hand, call with nothing, so use that as your guide.
What Else Do I Need to Know? They have a real cheap morning no-limit tourney. The structure is steep, but as of now they take little or no juice and it's one of the cheapest tourneys in town. They have high-hand jackpots. They also say they'll serve free pizza to players.
