Renting Cheap Car rentals don't have to be expensive at all. In fact, if you follow our three easy steps listed below, you can get a great deal on a rental car, all without leaving the warm, comforting glow of your computer screen. Step 1 - Compare Prices In general, we find that Travelnow.com offers excellent rental car rates, usually (but not always) beating the rental companies' web sites. Click the link below, enter your travel dates and pick a car size (like economy, compact, mid-size, etc.). The nice thing about Travelnow.com is they are a travel agency and when you reserve with them, you can cancel at any time without penalty. In fact, nobody charges your credit card until you pick the car up (except in the case of a few car rental companies that charge right away, but they are rare). Fill in the box below to get a quote from TravelNow.
Step 2 - Try to Beat the Best Price with Priceline Okay, now you have a price from Travelnow. Let's see if you can beat it at Once you offer a price to Priceline.com, if they accept it you are committed to renting that car and they charge your credit card immediately. For trips less than three days, Priceline isn't worth the bother because of their $6 processing fee. Take the lowest price from Travelnow and decide how much less per day it is worth to pay in advance for a rental car (we bid $5/day less than the Travelnow price, but you can bid even less). Remember the $6 service fee they tack on, so make sure that the price you bid, including that fee, is cheap enough to justify paying in advance. Step 3 - Priceline rejected your bid? Why those ungrateful jerks! Do they even know who you are? Well, if Priceline did reject your lowball bid, go back to Step One and take the best deal. Or, try to outdo it directly with the rental companies. Alamo || Budget || Dollar || Enterprise || Hertz || National || Thrifty |
